Tokyo- Japan’s
Foreign Minister Katsoya Okada expressed hope here Monday for
implementiaon of nuclear fuel swap based on Tehran trilateral declaration
(among Iran, Turkey and Brazil).

According to IRNA, the Japanese Foreign Ministry
announced that Mr. Okada made the comment in a phone talk with his Turkish
counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu in a dialogue mainly regarding Iran’s nuclear
program.
According to the report, Okada reflected Japan’s interest in
implementation of the Tehran agreement.
Appreciating Turkey for holding the
Japan Year in that country in the year 2010, the Japanese foreign minister
invited Davutoglu to visit his country before the year’s end.
He meanwhile
expressed sorrow over the Israeli military forces’ attack against the
International Peace Flotilla intending to break the siege of Gaza and offering
humanitarian assistance to the oppressed Gaza residents, expressing sympathy
with the Turkish bereaved families of the disastrous attack’s Turkish victims.
Ahmet Davutoglu, too, in response congratulated Okada for being reelected as
the foreign minister of his country, appreciated him for his invitation, and
said that he would visit Japan at his earliest convenient opportunity.
Davutoglu in the phone talk provided some explanations on details of the
proposed fuel swap deal to his Japanese counterpart, agreeing with him that
implementing the proposed deal would bear benefits for the world peace and
security.
He said that in order to solve the Iranian nuclear problem holding
dialogues with involved countries, including Iran itself, is of extreme
importance.
According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry communiqué, the two
countries’ top diplomats meanwhile exchanged viewpoints regarding Afghanistan
and the Middle East peace process.
